NSS HADDON (AD) is a strong, durable slate with excellent proven reliability and performance here in the UK and European markets for nearly 50 years. It naturally splits from the block to give a relatively flat smooth fine grain surface with slight longitudinal texture. It is in most cases virtually free of any mineral inclusions, but the HADDON (AD) can on occasion have slight traces of “mica” cubit minerals, which are totally stable. The HADDON (AD) natural slate conforms to the requirements of BS EN 12326 with a W1 T1 and S1 specification. (Copy BS EN 12326 Declaration of Performance certificate available upon request).
NSS HADDON(AD) slates also conform to the more stringent requirements of NF (Norm Francais) 228; this requires the quarry and slate to meet even greater exacting quality criteria and production testing procedures culminating with barcode traceability to be approved for use in France
The French market is known to receive over 80% of global slate production, NF228 demands the very best selections so you can be confident you are receiving consistent quality slate with every consignment. (Copy NF certification available upon request)
As a benchmark for quality and selection you should ensure the slates meet the requirements detailed within the “Northern Slate quick quality check list” to ensure you are receiving the very best slate for your proposed natural slate roof.
